Larry Wayne Young Sr.

PEMBROKE, NH - Larry W. Young Sr., 80, passed away on January 3rd, 2024 at Concord Hospital from Parkinson’s disease. He was born on January 27, 1943 in Conway, NH, the son of the late Charles and Marjorie (Parris) Young. Larry graduated from Penacook High School in 1962.

Larry worked at various places such as Sanels Auto, NH Explosives, Chadwick- BaRoss and then decided to go into the banking field where he worked at Concord Savings Bank for many years, the NH Federal Credit Union, and the Meredith Village Savings Bank where he would eventually retire as Vice President.

Larry enjoyed being involved in the towns that he lived in. In Salisbury, NH he was on the Volunteer Fire Department, started their Rescue Squad, was the Civil Defense Director, Chairman of the Town Planning Board and was on the Budget Committee. In Pembroke, NH, Larry was involved in Emergency Management, the Planning Board, Trustee of Trust Funds, Deputy Health Officer and Board of Selectmen.

When not working or being involved in the town, he could be found working around his house outside and spending time with his family. Larry had a great sense of humor and was loved and will be missed by many.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family members which include his loving wife of 59 years, Donna P. (Glover) Young, his son; Larry W. Young Jr. and his wife Lisa of Pembroke, NH. Daughters; Debra Audet and husband Charles of Canterbury, NH and Heather Kneeland and her fiancé David Audet of Pembroke, NH. In addition to his three children, he also leaves 5 grandchildren; Kaitlyn Orcutt and her husband Adam, Brandon Audet, Lindsay Young, Logan Young, Alyssa Kneeland and 4 great grandchildren; Lexus Audet, Brody Orcutt, Charlotte Orcutt and Jameson Converse, as well as his brothers; Conrad Young and his wife Penny of Concord, NH, Charles Young Jr. of West Palm Beach, Fl and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother; Samuel Fletcher Young and his sisters Joanne (Young) Hodges and Juanita (Young) Carpenter.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Epsom Healthcare Center.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 11, 2024 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St. Concord, NH 03301. A funeral service will be held on Friday January 12, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Trinity Baptist Church, 80 Clinton St. Concord, NH 03301.

Burial will be held at a later date.
