Leslie (Heaton) Evans 76, a loving mother, beloved grandmother, sister, and a dear friend to many passed away October 24, 2024. She was born on June 22, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, to Eppa and Nancy (Murphy) Heaton. She attended The American School in Switzerland for High School and graduated from Endicott College in 1968. She married Robert Evans in 1969 and moved to Norfolk, MA, and together they raised three children; Amy, Holly, and Wendy.
Leslie’s life was a testament to the unwavering love and dedication she poured into her family and friends. She was a woman of warmth, strength, and selflessness, always providing for her loved ones and extending a helping hand to anyone in need. Her laughter and outgoing personality lit up any room. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society, where she found joy in the camaraderie of wonderful women who celebrated life with flair and friendship. As a devoted member of The Federated Church of Norfolk, her faith shone brightly as she rang handbells, filling the congregation with beautiful and heartfelt music for over 30 years. Her love of travel started at a young age when her family visited Eaton’s Ranch every summer. She planned numerous cross country road trips with her own family and organized their yearly summer vacation to Old Orchard Beach in Maine, leaving them with countless treasured memories. She was passionate of her beautiful flower gardens and loved sharing the beauty with family, friends, and neighbors.
The brightest joy in Leslie’s life was her grandchildren (Sarah, Matthew, and Kyle) and her grand pups (Ghost and Skully), who she cherished with all her heart. She loved attending her grandkids different sporting events, cheering very loudly on the sidelines. At home, she never passed up an opportunity to play Mexican Train Dominos or work on Stave Puzzles. Her daughters held a special place in her life, as she poured love, wisdom, and guidance into each moment they shared. Leslie’s best friend, Susie, was her kindred spirit, and their 56-year friendship was a source of joy and laughter.
Leslie is survived by her daughters; Amy Evans of Norfolk, MA, Holly Jenness of Concord, NH, and Wendy Evans of Highland Village, TX, three grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, and Kyle; her sister, Jennifer Fritz (Derek) of Francestown, NH; her brothers, Michael Heaton of Chester, NH, and Jonathan Heaton of Burlington, VT.
Leslie’s kindness, laughter, and unwavering support left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She will be remembered for her giving spirit, her devotion to her family, and the love that overflowed from her heart. We will carry forward the many wonderful memories Leslie created with us, holding them close as we honor her remarkable life.
