
Lois was born in Worcester, MA and grew up in Quincy MA where she met her husband, Richard Patterson, Jr., in high school. They were married after college and were together for 52 years until his death from Parkinson's.
Lois spent time as an Army officer’s wife during his deployment in Vietnam, followed by being a stay a home mom. Lois then entered the workforce as an accountant for various non-profits that focused on homelessness, food stability, and child welfare. Her education included a BA in Music History from Hartt School of Music, an associate’s in accounting from Elizabethtown Community College, and an MPA from the University of New Haven. She was continually active in her local church wherever she lived and often served as the treasurer or other offices as needed. Hobbies included music, attending theater, and fabric arts.
After she retired, she spent her time with gourmet cooking and training her beloved poodles. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Lois was predeceased by her husband, her parents George and Ruth Johnson, and her son-in-law, Rene Forcier, Jr. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Forcier and Roberta Patterson (Wendy Hochreiter), and her grandsons Rene Forcier III and Richard Forcier.

A committal service is scheduled to be held at Pages Corner Cemetery, located on Stark Hwy N, Dunbarton, NH 03046, United States. The service will take place on November 17, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
