Mae (Maidee) Carolyn Whippen Wilson, 100, died on June 1, 2026. Born August 18, 1925, Maidee lived with a steady grace and a quietly radiant tenderness that made space for others. A resident of Concord, New Hampshire, she will be remembered for the gentle way she moved through the world—sweet in spirit, giving by nature, and kind-hearted in all the ways that matter most.
In her early years, Maidee graduated from Stevens High School in 1943. She went on to attend some college at UNH and at the New York School of Interior Design, pursuits that suited her eye for beauty and her patient care for the small details that turn a house into a home.
Maidee built her working life with the same warmth and steadiness that marked everything she did. She was a realtor for Elaine Ross Reality and worked as an interior designer alongside her husband’s architect business, Guy K.C. Wilson Architect. Beyond her professional work, she gave generously of her time and attention as a Board Member for YMCA, Centennial Home and the VNA Association. She was also a member of the Concord Garden Club, South Congregational Church, PEO, Concord Country Club, Concord Flower Mission, and the Concord Female Charitable Society—communities where her thoughtful presence and ready willingness to help were deeply valued.
Maidee’s interests were as life-affirming as they were varied: interior designing, gardening and indoor plants, reading, knitting, sewing, skiing, feeding birds, and travelling. As a child, she was a ballet dancer and acrobat—early hints of a lively spirit and an appreciation for discipline, beauty, and movement that never quite left her. She drove until she was 97 years old, an enduring symbol of her independence, and in 1995 she wrote her love story, a testament to reflection, memory, and the tenderness she carried through the years.
Maidee was predeceased by husbands: Guy K.C. Wilson and Verne Edmunds, and significant other Rodney Davis; her father Norman Whippen; her mother Edna Whippen; her brother Warren Whippen; and her son Dan Wilson.
Maidee is survived by her children: Tom Campbell Wilson and spouse Ceil Wilson, Wendy Von Schuch and spouse Warren Von Schuch, and Kim Brewster and spouse Richard Brewster. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Erica Wilson, Tara Desisto, Matthew Von Schuch, Danny Von Schuch, Benjamin Von Schuch, Tyler Brewster, and Ashley Brewster; and her great grandchildren: Guy Von Schuch, Jude Von Schuch, Zariyah Wilson, Adeejah Wilson, Kyra Huff, Reese Von Schuch, Berkley Von Schuch, Annika Von Schuch, Luke Von Schuch, Grant Von Schuch, Marshall Von Schuch, and August Von Schuch.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday June, 9, 2026 at 10:00 AM at South Congregational Church followed by refreshments and a space to share stories and memories in her honor.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Pope Memorial SPCA in Concord or Granite VNA of Concord, NH.
