Marjorie Susan Goldman

Marjorie "Marge" Susan Goldman, 82, of Concord, New Hampshire, passed away on September 13, 2026. Born November 12, 1943, Marjorie lived with a steady kind of grit and a bright, mischievous humor that had a way of turning ordinary moments into stories people repeated for years.

Marge graduated from Hull High School in Hull, MA, and later attended Burdett College of Business in Boston, MA—an early sign of her practical, capable spirit and her determination to keep learning what she needed to meet life head-on.

Over the years, she brought her dependable work ethic to roles at Merrimack Valley High School, Thirty Pines, and Chubb Life America. Yet the work she held closest to her heart was serving for many years as a foster grandparent at Penacook Elementary School. In that role, her warmth, quick wit, and steady presence offered the kind of everyday encouragement that sticks with a child long after the school bell rings.

Marge is survived by her husband of 56 years, Sumner “Sonny” Goldman—her beloved partner in crime, favorite vacation companion, and the one who knew exactly when to hand her a piece of chocolate and when to simply stand back and enjoy the show. She is also survived by her daughters, Gail (Goldman) Corey and Heidi (Goldman) King; and her grandchildren, Autumn King, Ivy King, and Brady Corey. She was predeceased by her mother, Harriette (Aronsow) Abramhoff, and her father, Herbert Abramhoff.

To know Marge was to know someone who could be wonderfully friendly and unapologetically strong-willed, with just enough feistiness to keep things interesting. She loved to read, make crafts, and lose track of time with cooking shows and cooking—especially if there was something sweet nearby, because she truly could never pass up chocolate. She also loved music and dancing, and she made many friends at Presidential Oaks, where her laughter and lively conversation were part of the fabric of daily life.

Sports brought out another side of Marge: the passionate fan who always yelled and cheered the loudest. If there was a game on, she had an opinion—and she wasn’t shy about sharing it. It was all part of her gift for showing up fully, loving boldly, and bringing energy wherever she sat down.

Marge gave her time generously in the community, including involvement with the Penacook PTO, Merrimack Valley Music Boosters Club, Merrimack Valley Extension Group, and as a Girl Scout Troop Helper. She volunteered at a soup kitchen, supported her daughters’ sporting events and classrooms, and served as president of the presidential oaks resident council—roles that fit her perfectly, combining her friendliness with her no-nonsense ability to get things done.

In true Marge fashion—practical, heartfelt, and focused on helping others—Marge would love for donations to be made in her honor to help pay off overdue school lunch accounts at your favorite schools.
