Born on June 11, 1973, Martha grew up in Penacook, NH, with her mother, father and two brothers. As a young child, Martha was involved in many activities, skating, horseback riding, and cheering at her brothers’ many sports events. She also loved attending summer camps where she could boat and swim, and she never turned down a chance to ride the carousel at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH. She graduated from Merrimack Valley High School in Penacook, NH.
As she aged and could no longer participate in sports, Martha turned to other interests. She loved to go to her day program, where she was deeply loved by all. Everywhere Martha went, she was never a stranger, she was known by all.
She liked to listen to music and to dance. She also enjoyed watching game shows such as The Price is Right, “Martha Stone, come on down!” and Family Feud. In addition, she was happy to cheer on the Boston Red Sox as well as any sporting event.
She loved eating McDonalds hamburgers, tuna fish sandwiches and Cheerios; wearing and carrying name tags; and receiving purses and watches as gifts, both of which she had quite a collection.
Every winter, she would travel to Florida to enjoy some sunshine with her mother, whom she deeply adored. Every summer, her mother would travel to NH so they could enjoy time together.
Martha was preceded in death by her father, Donald James Stone Sr., who cherished his only daughter. Martha will be deeply missed by her mother, Janet Stone of North Ft. Myers, Florida; brother Donald and wife Angela Stone of Boscawen, NH, and brother Mark and wife Elaine Stone of Lakeland, Florida; along with her aunt and uncle, Judith and Ken Mooney of Tilton, NH, and her nephew Benjamin Stone, and nieces Molly Stone and Kacey Samson.
Special thanks to Sharada Shrestha and her family for making Martha one of their own, and to the multiple caregivers and friends who worked and cared for Martha throughout her lifetime.
