Mary Lena (Belware) Terrio, a loving wife, cherished mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 11, 2026, at age 74, after a courageous battle with a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on August 29, 1952, to the late William Belware and Rita (Royer) Belware in Manchester, New Hampshire. She was the youngest of six children raised by a devoted single mother after losing her father at the age of two. Growing up in a large and resilient family, Mary developed a deep loyalty to her mother. She admired her strength profoundly and spent her life honoring that bond, carrying her mother's wisdom of resilience, unconditional love, and family unity into every part of her life.
As a teenager, she met the love of her life, Glenn Terrio, and they married on October 31,1970. For 56 beautiful years, she was his adored wife, soulmate, and best friend. Together, they built a lifetime of shared dreams, laughter, and a legacy of enduring love that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew them. Mary was the heart of her family. As a mother, she was nothing short of amazing. From late-night chats to planning baby showers and weddings-and always during the hardest of times-she filled their lives with unwavering love. Her warmth extended far beyond her immediate family; she created a home where all friends in need of comfort felt welcome, safe, and cared for.
While Mary wore many titles in her life, her proudest was Mimi. Her grandchildren were the absolute joy of her life. She treasured spending weekends and holidays with them. Whether they were playing trains and Legos, sharing stories, teaching them to write their names, or singing together by the Christmas tree as she happily passed out gifts at Christmas time, she poured endless excitement into their lives. As their biggest supporter, Mimi never missed a chance to profoundly celebrate their happiest moments and cheer them on through every milestone. They will forever carry her love, traditions, and memories in their hearts.
In addition to her beloved husband, Glenn Terrio of Weare, Mary is survived by her two children: her son, Brian Terrio and his wife, Tonia of Hillsborough; her daughter, Carrie Severance of Somersworth; and her grandchildren, Domenic and Mary of Somersworth, and Maggie of Hillsborough. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Belware of Manchester; her sister, Barbara Belware of Hooksett; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, William Belware and David Belware, and her sister, Shirley Paradis.
