Matilda enjoyed many activities in life during her senior years, i.e., reading, knitting, and playing cards with her friends. She also loved the Farmingdale Public Library, and relished her time and activities with her fellow seniors there. When she was younger, she and her husband enjoyed traveling and taking in the sights.
Matilda, who will be dearly missed, is survived by her two children: her daughter Jilda Doukas and her husband George of Lindenhurst, NY, and her son Jerry LoFaro and his wife Kathleen of Henniker, NH. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and great-grandmother of fourteen, with one on the way. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Matilda was preceded in death by her husband Hector LoFaro, who she married in 1949 and celebrated 64 years together until his passing in 2012. She was also predeceased by her son, Thomas LoFaro, her grandson Gregory LoFaro, and her nine siblings.
