Nancy Ellen Boucher

Nancy (Mooney Moynan) Boucher, 71, of Bow, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on August 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on June 30, 1955, in Burlington, VT to Winston and Elizabeth (Moynan) Mooney, Nancy lived a life defined by love, compassion, faith, and an unwavering commitment to the people she cared about.

For six years, Nancy fought her battle with cancer the same way she lived her life—with grace, strength, determination, and faith. Even through the darkest days, she continued to find ways to care for others, to give back, and to find joy in the simple things that made life beautiful.

Nancy’s world centered around her family. She strived to be the very best daughter, wife, mother, MumMum, sister, aunt, and friend she could be. In every one of those roles, she was an overachiever. She loved deeply and made the people in her life feel cared for, supported, and loved.

Nancy had a special gift when it came to working with young children. In her twenties, she started a kindergarten program in her home in East Haven, Vermont . After moving to New Hampshire in 1984, she spent many years providing a caring and nurturing home daycare, creating a place where children were loved, encouraged, and made to feel at home. Later in life, she continued doing what she loved, working with children at Casa dei Bambino Montessori Children’s Center in Bow, NH.

Nancy found joy in many things throughout her life. She loved working with flowers, reading, kayaking, hiking, and crafting. She had a special place in her heart for animals and volunteered for several years walking dogs at Pope Memorial SPCA. Most recently, she found great meaning and joy volunteering in the treatment room at the Payson Cancer Center at Concord Hospital, giving her time and compassion to others who were walking a path she knew all too well.

Nancy was a member of Bow Mills United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. Her faith was a constant source of strength and comfort.

Nancy leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Mark Boucher; her daughter, Rebecca Capo, and her partner, John Oldach; her son, Curtis Boucher, and his partner, Laura Stephens; her grandson, Derek Capo, and his wife, Jaelyn Capo; her brother, David Mooney, and his wife, MaryBeth Mooney; nieces, Liz Mooney and husband, Matt Doup, and their daughters Maya and Naomi; Kyla Mooney; and nephew Liam Mooney, the “Lancaster Crew”, Bob and Barbara Martin, Squirrel and Helen Martin, Nancy and David Sanborn and their families. She also leaves behind her beloved cousin, Lee Cox, whom she considered more like a brother, dear friend Julia Gilbert, as well as her treasured dog, Cherokee, and cat, Sophie.

A funeral service will be held at Bow Mills United Methodist Church on Thursday, September 10, at 1:00 p.m., with a luncheon to follow. A private family burial will take place in Lancaster, NH on Friday, September 11th.
