Nancy completed her Diploma Nursing Program in 1964 at Children's Hospital School of Nursing in Boston, Massachusetts where she worked for 10 years. She took a position at a Women's Center in Dedham for a couple years before moving to New Hampshire in 1976 where she was the college Nurse at New England College in Henniker, NH. While working at NEC, she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology/Sociology.
She moved to Bow, NH in 1978 where she changed to mental health nursing. Starting with the State of New Hampshire as a psychiatric nurse, she assisted youth and later adults. Nancy continued to work for the state as she transitioned to Quality Assurance Utilization Review Coordinator for six years until 1989. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from UNH 1995 and was Assistant Director of Nursing Standards, Education & Research from 1989 until she retired in 1999.
Nancy loved to work with children and was passionate about helping people with mental disabilities and depression. She was a beloved friend and a single parent who raised 4 children with determination, discipline, and love.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles R. Todd and Genevieve (Shaw) Todd.
Nancy is survived by her siblings, Pamela (Todd) Sheldon, Carol (Todd) Hughes, Rayner Todd and Charles E. Todd. She is also survived by her children Robert Tisdale and his wife Carol Tisdale, David Tisdale and his wife Yolimar Bolivar, Sarah Tisdale, and Jennifer (Tisdale) Bell. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Aaron Bell and his wife Katie Bell, Aidan Bell, Ainsley Bell, and great-grandson Ezra (Bell) Mejia, and close family friend Rose Savino.
As many of Nancy's family and friends just celebrated her 80th birthday in August 2023, no formal service will be held. A small family gathering for her interment will occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to Nancy's favorite charitable organizations: Boys & Girls Club, SPCA, and NHPR.
