

Norma Jean Morse Whitcomb passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at Havenwood Healthcare facility, Concord NH. She was born on December 21, 1930, in Concord NH, to parents Errol and Dorothy Morse. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Melvin Whitcomb.
She was a lifelong resident of Concord, graduate of Concord High School and member of the former First Baptist Church. She retired from St. Paul’s School having served as Administrative Assistant tot the Director of Physical Plant for 20 years.
Norma was involved in numerous community organizations over the years, including Concord Women’s Club, Concord Community Players, and NH Philharmonic Society. Upon being widowed, she volunteered at the Concord Chamber of Commerce as a Granite State Ambassador and the NH Forest Society.
Leading a full life, she and her husband hosted many friends and people from all walks of life in their home over the years. She loved people, instantly making friends with those she met. She also loved animals, especially their dog Ginger, the joy of their lives. She and Mel vacationed yearly in Swampscott, MA, and made frequent trips to Boston. One of their favorite activities together was biking, especially while on vacation. Nevers Band was a large part of her life as her husband was a 50-year band member.
Highlights in later years included 12 winters in Holiday FL and trips to Germany and Arizona. After moving to Havenwood Heritage Heights Retirement Community, she remained active and continued to enjoy outings with family, and especially trips to York Beach ME.
Norma will be missed greatly by her family. She leaves behind sisters Sharon Seaman and husband Bob of Newport VT, and Shirley Foret of Havenwood Heritage Heights; nieces Suzanne Charles and husband Mike of Manchester NH, Gretchen Borda and husband Brian of Cornwall NY, and Kristen Seaman of Sitka AK and Center Conway NH; nephews Christopher Foret and wife Allison of Meredith NH, Jayson Seaman and wife Kim of Durham NH; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family wishes to thank the 1st floor nursing staff at Havenwood Health Facility for their wonderful care over the last several years of Norma’s life. Also, we thank Debbie Giles Lincoln who remained a loyal friend to the end.
A Calling Hour will be held from 11AM-12PM, with a Memorial Service at 12PM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St, Concord NH, followed by a brief reception. Burial will take place at 2:30PM at Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 N. State St, Concord NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Norma’s memory to the Pope Memorial SPCA, 94 Silk Farm Rd, Concord NH 03301.
