

BOW-Norman E. Rhodes Sr., 86, passed away with loved ones by his side on July 7, 2016 at the CRVNA Hospice House. Norm was born April 7, 1930 in Framingham, MA the son of Mary F. (Turner) and Clarence E. Rhodes.
He graduated from Wayland High School in 1948 and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1953. In 1954 a job opportunity in Laconia brought him to New Hampshire. He was a pharmacist for over 50 years. Norm practiced as a retail pharmacist, a general hospital pharmacist, a Neuropsychiatric Hospital Pharmacist, and a consultant to the Merrimack County Nursing Home. He really enjoyed helping people.
Norm was discharged from the N.H. National Guard as a 1st Lt. in 1959. He was a Past President MCP Alumni Club of NH, Past President N.H. Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Past President of USAFA Parents Association, Chairman of Bow Supervisory Union #19 Study Committee, assistant scoutmaster of Troop 75, Bow, NH and a Concord Hospital Volunteer for Senior Wellness Programs. He was a member of Blazing Star-Eureka Masonic Lodge #11, a member of Bektash Drum Corps, and a member of Bektash Mini-Kar Patrol of Concord.
Norman was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed being an active part in their activities including sports, music and scouting.
Members of Norm’s family include his wife of nearly 49 years, Sandra (Palmer) Rhodes; his 3 daughters, Frani Sinder and her husband, Herb of E. Hampstead, Donna Delgado and her husband, Paul of Laconia, Lori Roy and her husband, Leo of Manchester; his 5 sons, Matthew and his wife, Carol of Concord, Steven and his wife, Alison of Concord, Norman Jr. and his wife, Mui-Hiang of Austin, TX, Paul and his wife, Shannon of Concord, and Peter and his wife, Mia of Hillsboro, Oregon; 19 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00AM, July 15, 2016 at Bow Mills United Methodist Church, 505 South St. Bow, NH. Interment will follow at Evans Cemetery in Bow, NH.
