

Patricia J. Dawson, 94, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Granite VNA Hospice House. She was raised in Pembroke, NH, the daughter of Anthony J. and Helen (Jensen) Hook. She was a graduate of Pembroke Academy.
Pat lived in Hooksett and Hopkinton, NH before moving to Havenwood in Concord, NH. She had worked for the NH Department of Motor Vehicles, at Britt’s Department Store as a department manager, and for Manchester Sand and Gravel as a secretary. After she retired, she was a dedicated volunteer at the Slusser Senior Center in Hopkinton and a co-director of the Hopkinton Dial-a-Ride for many years. She received the Joseph D. Vaughn Volunteer award for Merrimack County in 2016. She was a member of First Congregational Church of Hopkinton.
Pat loved fashion and enjoyed shopping. She was the informal fashion consultant to her family. She enjoyed decorating her home, especially during the holidays. Over the last few years, she was part of a knitting group at Havenwood. She liked reading and she was diligent about keeping up with friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter and great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Bruce Dawson, and her sister Mary Lou Taylor.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jim Howard of Pembroke, NH, her granddaughter Patty Gregg and her husband Braeden of Durham, Maine, great-grandson Julian Gregg, and beloved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on March 25th from 2:00 to 4:00 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord, NH. A memorial service will take place at the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton on March 26th at 11:30 am.
