Patricia Ruth Stuck, age 96, went to be with her Lord on April 9, 2025. Born to Charles and Sara Settlemire on February 6, 1929, she was preceded in death by husband Leonard Stuck; her sister Sally Niederriter, brother David Settlemire, half-sister Betty Hancock, and half-brother Bill Settlemire (Roschie). She is survived by her two daughters, Julie (Michael Orleski) and Jennifer (David Allen), and her son Craig (Deb). She took special delight in her 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
As an adolescent she excelled at piano under the tutelage of the Saint Benedictine nuns. She performed piano accompaniment for her mother Sara and other soloists on WKRZ radio. She loved to recall that after she played Clar de lune by memory for a school recital a hush fell over the audience. After sometime one student reflected "that was, that was, that was long!" She shared her joy in music through most of her life as a church pianist.
She graduated from Oil City Senior High School in 1946. When working for the accounting department of the Natural Gas Company she met and fell in love with Leonard Stuck. Their love and commitment grew through a marriage of 57 years.
They started their family in Fertigs, PA, and moved to Clarion, PA, before settling in Greenville, PA. Pat loved being a wife and mother. She was a brilliant cook and baker, and her homemade pies were in demand for community events. Returning from school each day her children would anticipate the aromas of fresh baked goods that would greet them. She was also a talented seamstress and her creations clothed her family like the woman of Proverbs. She was a spiritual inspiration to her children, faithfully taking them to church and living a life of complete trust in Jesus.
After Leonard's retirement they returned to Fertigs and enjoyed reconnecting with family and friends. In 2014 she moved to Havenwood Heritage Heights in Concord, New Hampshire. The residents and staff became a second family during the last 12 years of her life.
Pat's life will be honored on Saturday, May 17 in Fertigs, PA. A brief graveside service will be held at 10am at the Fertigs Cemetery. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:30am at the Fertigs Community Center followed by lunch for all. It will be a special time to reconnect, reminisce and celebrate all that Pat meant to us.
In lieu of flowers, Mom would have wanted donations sent to:
Cranberry Area Food Pantry, 224 South Main Street, Seneca, PA 16346
and/or
Fertigs Cemetery Association, PO Box 50, Seneca, PA 16346.
