
Priscilla (Field) Batchelder, 89, of Concord, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018, after a sudden illness. She was born in Exeter, NH, the daughter of Richard and Decima (Doyle) Field. Mrs. Batchelder spent her childhood in Exeter, Gorham and Jaffrey, graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 1952 with a degree in music education. She married Norman Batchelder in February of 1952, and the couple lived in Pembroke, Concord, Keene, and Goffstown. Norman was a CPA with the accounting firm Smith, Batchelder & Rugg and former director of the NH Society of CPAs, and after raising their family Priscilla became a title abstractor for Landmark Title. In her senior years Priscilla moved back to Concord, and became a resident at Havenwood-Heritage Heights.
Mr. Batchelder died in 1999. Mrs. Batchelder is survived by her brother, Albert Field, and his wife Marguerite of Exeter, NH; daughters Evelyn Pearson and her husband Jerry of Temple, Elizabeth Day of Florida, Susan Batchelder and her husband Edward of Massachusetts, Melissa Gogolen and her husband David of Canterbury; son Robert Batchelder and his wife Denise of North Carolina; twelve grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Michael and his wife Lauren, Jessica and her husband Nick, Jaclyn, Alyssa, Darby, Richard, Priscilla, Sharon, Karen and her husband Rupa, Ansel and his wife Yuka, Nadine, and Cole; eight great-grandchildren, Cameron, Gabriel, Theodore, Lena, Nava, Arielle Rose, Alakai and Aylee Jade; and thirteen nieces and nephews and their families.
A service of remembrance will be held at Havenwood-Heritage Heights in Concord on Saturday, November 17 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to a local SPCA, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to a veterans organization, as Priscilla did frequently in her lifetime.
