Ramona (Mona) was born in Nashua, NH on October 10, 1937, to Thelma (Hart) and Randall Kean. She was the oldest of three girls. Mona grew up in Massachusetts, graduating from Newton High School, Newton, MA in 1955 and then went on to earn an associate’s degree from Lasell College in 1957.
In 1959, Mona married her high school sweetheart, Don, and they moved to Hopkinton, NH. Mona and Don raised their four children in Hopkinton and remained active residents there for 62 years.
Mona received her real estate license in 1975 and enjoyed a very successful and rewarding career selling homes in the greater Concord area for 45 years.
In addition to her chosen work, Mona was very involved in her church participating on various committees including the Church Building Committee, Liturgy Committee, Decorations Committee, Martha’s Ministry and Family Promise. She was also a long-time member of the Hopkinton Women’s Club and a volunteer with Dial-A-Ride. She enjoyed tennis (watching and playing), gardening, home decorating, yoga and long walks, especially with her dear friend Marilyn. She also loved babysitting and spending time with her eleven grandchildren, who all hold a special place in their hearts for her unwavering interest and enthusiastic participation in their growth and achievements.
Above all, Mona was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She was always present – celebrating the best of times and offering her comfort and support during the worst of times. She was the consummate hostess, hosting traditional family holidays, Labor Day cookouts, Superbowl parties and dinner parties with elegance and flair.
