

Born on July 14, 1921, to Raymond and Bertha Tippet Sibley, Dick was a lifetime resident of Concord, NH. For the past 22 years, he has resided at the Havenwood Retirement Campus.
He was graduated from Concord High School in 1939. A World War II veteran, Dick served with the US Navy Air Corps as an Aviation Metalsmith 1st Class stationed in Corpus Christi, TX and the Panama Canal Zone.
He worked at the State of NH’s sign shop until being employed by New England Telephone, where he retired after 34 years as the head line assignor, Concord.
He was a member of United Baptist Church. Active in Boy Scouts, Dick helped organize Cub Pack and Boy Scout Troop #72 at United Baptist Church. He served on Daniel Webster Council training staff and received scouting honors of Vigil member of Order of the Arrow and The Silver Beaver Award, the highest volunteer distinguished service award.
He was a AT & T Pioneers Life member and past president of East Chapter, St. Petersburg, FL and a volunteer with the talking books program for the blind, Concord.
He was a 50 year, 32nd degree member of Blazing Star Masonic Lodge F & AM #11, Scottish Rite and a 35 year member of The Bektash Shriners Drum and Bugle Corps. He was past president of the Concord Shrine Club and former adult supervisor for the Order of DeMolay. Honors received included Order of DeMolay Cross or Honor and the Major General John Sullivan Distinguished service award.
While wintering in St. Petersburg, FL, Dick and Doris, his beloved wife of 53 years, worked at Al Lang Stadium many spring trainings for the Saint Louis Cardinals, however, his heart was always with the Red Sox!!
He was also active in the Tri-State Collectors Club of NH.
Dick was predeceased by his wife, Doris Hammond Sibley; two sons, Stephen and Robert Sibley; his parents; a sister, Olive Gilbert.
Dick is survived by two sons, William (Alice) Sibley, of South Carolina; Gary (Sandy) Sibley, of Florida. He is also survived by two grandchildren; Robert H. of Wingate University, NC; Denise Belrose (John) of Concord; a great grandson, a great-great grandson, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, in Concord, on Monday, November 10, 2014 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM followed by a masonic service. Committal prayers and interment with Military Honors will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery, in Concord.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children Burn Hospital, Boston, MA, or to Concord Hospital Cardiac Care Unit, Pleasant Street, in Concord, or United Baptist Church, 29 Fayette Street, Concord, NH 03301; Robert Sibley Camp Sentinel Memorial Fund or the Doris Sibley Memorial fund.
