
He was born in Concord on November 26, 1930, the son of Albert J. and Doris M. (Jolin) Ahern. He was a graduate of Concord High School class of 1948. He was a Veteran of the Korean War.
He was formerly employed at Northeast Optical and then NH Optical for many years. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed woodworking and stamp collecting. He enjoyed his morning work outs with his friends at Planet Fitness.
Robert was a member of the Christ the King Parish, St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church.
Robert leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Joyce Ahern, a son Stephen Ahern and his wife Joan of Whitinsville, MA, two daughters, Maureen Jenkins and her partner, Perry Bennett of Bow, NH, and Kathleen White and her husband, Michael of Berwick, ME. He also leaves behind a granddaughter, Kellie Peterson and her husband Corey of Clinton, MA; a sister, Margaret Maloney of Creston, NE and was pre-deceased by a grandson, Kenneth Russell.
Friends may call at the Bennett Funeral Home, 3 Church St. (The Brick Bldg.) on Saturday, September 12th, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Christ the King Parish, St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 72 South Main Street, on Saturday, September 19th at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bennett Funeral Home, Concord.
