The seemingly vast distance of time passing has not, cannot diminish or erase the fond memories of the relatively short time I spent with Robbie.  Then as, by all accounts, throughout his life, he was fun-loving, life-loving, adventurous, kind and generous.  I am so sorry for the tragic loss his family and others who were close to him throughout his life must be feeling, and hope they can find some consolation in the knowledge that, though the world is a sadder place with his passing, it is surely a better place for his having lived in it; and all whose lives he touched are better for having known him.

It is with sadness that we learn of Rob's passing. 

The Laconia Area Community Land Trust was one of the many housing groups lucky enough to work with Rob.
Several important housing projects here in the Lakes Region were completed because of his smart, strategic problem solving.  

He was a wonderful partner and team player.  In fact, five years ago we named him the Housing Hero of our Lochmere development. 

We adored Rob in his professional capacity.  I can only imagine how great the loss for those who were blessed to call him family and friend.

Dear 'other McCarthys' - when we think of Rob we think of what a great guy he was!  He was always happy and enjoyed life!  And he was the best host!  He enjoyed his children as well as everyone else's.  When our youngest Kelsey was about two (she is now 24) she never wanted anyone to pick her up but me, her Mom.  I'll never forget being at your house in Derby, Vermont, when I saw Rob with Kelsey in his arms, walking her around your house showing her his beautiful flower garden! The "other McCarthys" have been such a part of our Vermont life. We are filled with so many wonderful memories of 4th of July parades, hikes, camping trips and so much more. Their home, wherever that was, has always been a gathering place for friends and family. Rob made us all feel welcomed. Love to all lucky to have known him.

Robbie was someone whom everyone looked up to. His knowledge, caring, and humor always shone through and lifted those around him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the McCarthy family during this difficult time and profound loss.

So sorry to hear of Robs passing. Memories of summertime, the world's best steaks, crazy rides in the back of the pick up clutching tubes but most of all a warm heart and a mile wide slow smile. Our thoughts are with you all at this time.

Very sorry to hear this!  My condolences go out to all who loved him and who so enjoyed working with him.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family.  Rob was a remarkable man who put life into everyone around him.  It was an honor knowing him at USDA RD and will be missed.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. -

We were so sad to hear about Rob's death. He was such a great guy, a loving and caring person. I especially remember the time, when he first walked into our house in Kleinlangheim, Germany. What a lucky day: the start of a lifelong friendship! Though we were living far apart from each other, the emotional bond was always there. 
We miss you! Rest in peace!
