Ronald William Higgins, 80, of Bow, New Hampshire, was born on August 2, 1945, and passed away on April 16, 2026. In the ways that matter most—steady presence, quiet devotion, and the care shown in everyday routines—Ronald left a mark that will be remembered with deep affection. After this first mention, he will be lovingly remembered as Ron.
Ron’s life was shaped by hands-on skill and a genuine appreciation for the simple, enduring pleasures that make a home feel lived in. His interests spoke to a patient, attentive spirit: stamps collected with care, time spent gardening, and the satisfaction of cooking for himself and those around him. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he carried a lasting interest in trains and the railroad—an admiration for craftsmanship, history, and the calm rhythm of things built to last. Ron also valued seeing the world beyond home, traveling to Hawaii, Virginia, Maryland, and Bermuda.
Ron graduated from Concord High School and earned an Associate Degree from NH Tech. He built a long and dependable working life through roles at Coles TV and Appliances; Converse Rubber Company of Contoocook; Digital; Tupperware; and, for 26 years, Sulloway and Hollis—places where reliability and steady effort are not just noticed, but counted on.
Ron also served in the Army, including 19 months in Vietnam—an experience that stands as a significant chapter in his life and one remembered with respect and gratitude.
He is survived by his sister, Patricia E. Degreenia; his sister-in-law, Anita Shaw and her husband Richard Shaw; and their son, Kyle Shaw.
He was predeceased by his father, Warren Steven Higgins; his mother, Arlene Elizabeth (Moulton) Higgins; his brother, Gerald S. Higgins; and his wife of 48 years, Karol Edyth (French) Higgins.
