
Ruberta Helen Tucker (Bunny), 96 of Tilton passed peacefully away on Sept. 27, 2012. She was born May 14, 1916 in Cherryfield, Me. She was the 7th child out of 13. Bunny was predeceased by her parents Frank and Suzie (Smith) Tucker, and predeceased by her siblings, Frank Jr., Robert, Ruth, Glenis, Abby, Merrill, Clayton, Sidney, Flora, and Sarah.
Bunny leaves behind one-brother Maynard Tucker of Massachusetts, and one sister, Suzie Brewer of Maine. She also leaves behind many generations of nieces and nephews.
Bunny graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1938 and then worked at the Boston Children’s Floating Hospital in Boston, Ma. She then worked at the former Margaret Pillsbury Hospital in Concord, training nurse cadets for WWII and was also the head of the Nursery Unit. She retired from nursing after 11 years and went on to work at the New England Telephone Co. for 29 years.
Bunny lived on the Heights in Concord for 53 years with her best friend Laura Whittier, who predeceased her in 2001. Bunny has lived with her great niece (Mary C. Holmes) in Tilton, NH, since 2006.
She was an avid painter, wood carver and lampshade maker. Bunny did extensive traveling throughout her life, enjoying the beaches throughout the northeast with the “Outback” in Australia being her all time favorite destination. She had a wonderful disposition and sense of humor and will be truly missed by all.
Services are being held at Bennett Funeral Home in Concord at 10:00 am Saturday October 6th.
