Signe O. Goodwin

She was born May 20, 1920 at 49 Lake Street in Concord, the youngest of seven children of Carl I. Olson and Alma (Casperson) Olson.

She was a graduate of Concord High Class of 1937. Signe was a member of the United Church of Penacook and the Penacook Historical Society. She proudly served 31 years as treasurer of Merrimack Valley School District.

She enjoyed music and traveled to many Bluegrass festivals throughout the eastern U.S. with family and friends. She also enjoyed the company of her cats and was proud of the many Blue Ribbons she won for baking apple pies.

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Frank W. Goodwin; three sisters, Elsa Frediani, Viola Blaisdell and Doris Ansart; three brothers, Harry, Roy and Waldo Olson; and one grandchild.

She is survived by three sons, Steve W. Goodwin of Penacook, Peter C. Goodwin and his wife Dianne of Hudson, Fl and Robert J. Goodwin and his wife Juanita of Clearwater, FL; two sisters in law, Mrs. Irene Olson of Concord and Dorothea Young of Webster; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 11am-1pm at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord. Funeral services will take place at 1pm at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Concord.
