Valorie Sue Harris of Hopkinton, NH passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH. Valorie was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 24,1968 to parents Robert and Zadine Cummins. The eldest of two sisters, she was raised in both Indian Wells Valley, California and Willamette Valley, Oregon.
Wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, neighbor and friend, Valorie loved cooking, traveling, sewing, and spoiling her beloved Lucky and Fitz Otis. Known for festive July 4th and Christmas parties or hosting gatherings for friends and family, Valorie was truly a “hostess with the mostest” who spread cheer, happiness, and friendship through food and companionship. This passion sparked the launch of “Valorie’s Kitchen” showcasing her deliciously creative treats. Neighbors, friends, and Shane’s classmates at UNH Law came to enjoy her “Scoobie Snacks.” Valorie’s home was always a place of genuine warmth, generosity, and laughter.
Valorie cherished returning to Willamette Valley to spend time with her grandparents and Aunt San/Uncle Ron. Some of Valorie’s most treasured memories were centered around sitting at Grandma Cummins’ breakfast nook and chatting about nothing in particular. Valorie was equally fond of all the memories and opportunities afforded her as a military spouse. An absolute proponent of Shane’s 32-year Naval career, Valorie also took great pride in building a distinguished career that stood on its own, independent of her role as a devoted and supportive military spouse. Valorie had her own illustrious 30+-year career at SATO Travel, Nations Bank and, in her last position as Senior Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Marketing, for Bank of America in Arlington, VA.
Valorie loved adventure and traveled to 73 countries across 5 continents, making the most of living overseas for nearly 10 years. Whether planning the ultimate golf bucket list trip across Scotland and Ireland for Shane, traveling throughout the Middle East with Kimi or driving throughout Europe with Lucky and Fitz Otiz, Valorie always had her passport in hand ready for the next destination.
Valorie will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, generous heart, and deep appreciation for life’s blessings. Faith offered her a quiet strength, finding peace in knowing that she would be welcomed home with love and grace. Already deeply missed, her family takes comfort in the assurance that Valorie rests in eternal peace surrounded by love and faith.
Valorie was predeceased by her beloved Grandma and Grandpa Cummins (Helen and William); parents (Robert and Zadine); beloved Aunt San and Uncle Ron (Rawlinson); beloved in-laws (Donald and Alice Harris); and her cherished “Lucky.”
Valorie is survived by her husband of 30 years Shane, daughter Dannielle Moody (Mexico), son David L. Moody III (North Dakota), sister Cynthia Retzloff (Iowa), best friend Maria Wilson (Florida), her “ride or die” travel chika Kimi Fowler (Rhode Island), seven nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins and in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local Domestic Violence or Woman’s Shelter. A celebration of life service will be scheduled for the spring.
