William H. Strong

Born May 24, 1929 in Hartford, CT, Bill grew up in Plantsville and Westbrook CT, son of Ethel C. and William M. Strong. He attended General Motors Institute, Flint, MI, and served in the US Army. He started his long career in regional automotive service management with Chrysler, continuing to work with Datsun, Saab, Subaru, and American Isuzu. He was a Concord resident for the past ten years after ten rewarding retirement years of missionary work in nearly all 50 United States.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Julia A. Smith of Wallingford, CT, and William J. Strong (Karen) of Nottingham, NH, grandchildren Christopher A. Smith and Naia Hsu Strong. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Dorothy Hiller. He leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday December 20, 2013, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 79 Clinton Street, Concord, NH. Interment in Westbrook CT will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Wesley United Methodist Church, or the Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O. Box 70, Wallingford, CT 06492.
