She was born in Holderness on January 15, 1925, the daughter of William F. and Hattie (Weeks) Ford. She attended elementary school in Holderness and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1941. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Education from Plymouth Teachers College in 1945, attended the University of North Carolina and received a Masters Degree in Education from the University of New Hampshire in 1968.
She taught in elementary schools in Bridgewater, Center Harbor, Holderness, Woodstock and Concord. She was also an elementary school library supervisor in Concord when she retired in 1975 due to ill health.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Concord and a life member of New Hampshire Retired Education Association, the National Education Association and the
N.E.A. – New Hampshire.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed her family, house plants, flowers and pets.
She considered herself blessed by her wonderful Rolfe Street area neighbors.
Winona was predeceased by her husband, Eugene in 2004; 3 brothers, Henry, Joseph and
Robert Ford and six sisters; Violet Ford, Lillian Spencer, Vera Gilpatrick, Myra Tucker, Rebekah Clevenson and Hester Fountaine.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Brown of Leominster, MA; three granddaughters, three great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
A chapel service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at the chapel in New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

Manchester, NH 03101; the Athritis Foundation, Northern Chapter, 6 Chennell Drive, Concord, NH 03301 or to the CRVNA Hospice Program, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301.
