My family first met Betty when she graciously welcomed us to the neighborhood with a plate of snickerdoodles. Betty was near and dear to us and our daughter Rebeca enjoyed having Betty over for her birthdays. Though we moved away in 2014 and are temporarily mourning Betty's absence, we know that we will joyfully meet again when we once again move into Betty's neighborhood.

Too many memories to pick a favorite. She was my favorite Aunt☺️, Galian her sister was my Mother. I loved the summer I spent in Conover for 6 weeks to help out after her surgery when I was 16 . I remember making homemade beer with my job being capping the bottles, canning green beans at the local cannery. She was a wonderful woman and will be missed dearly.

Mrs. Spencer was one of the best teachers I ever had. She always had a positive outlook on life and loved her students dearly. She was one of the very early inspirations in me becoming a teacher.
Although I live in Raleigh, I sat beside Mrs. Spencer at the Sunday early service in the chapel when I would come home for football games. And, I always enjoyed seeing her at Concordia's Christmas Eve service.
I am so very grateful for everything she did for me.

The world has lost a wonderful individual! She has been an inspiration to many including myself! She was my own Kindergarten teacher at Concordia many years ago and inspired me to be a teacher myself. I spent many hours in her classroom helping her prepare for the next school year and then used what she taught me for 21 years. I had the privilege of even coming home and teaching alongside her for one year. That was the year she retired from teaching school at Concordia. I will never forget that year! I believe that heaven has gained an angel. Love you dearly, Betty, and know that your spirit and love of learning still lives through all of those you touched throughout your journey here on Earth! Rest in peace my mentor. Rest in peace.

Such an amazing teacher and joyous person. Loved being able to continue a friendship with her into my adulthood, share major life milestones with her, and introduce my husband to her. A true treasure....

I only meet her a few times. But was so sweet and kind. Her life was well spent. She differently showed the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Such a beautiful lady inside and out. Betty always wanted to make sure that she spoke to my Mom when she was still able to attend church.
Mom thought so much, as so many others, of Betty. My prayers are with the family🙏❤️🌈
