My Mom, Alice Dong, for kindergarten, home schooled me, Chris, Sheila & Chris Crotty at our flat on Castro St. in Eureka Valley, SF CA. Most of the families disbursed to other districts in SF or Northern Bay Area in the early '70's. Chris & I reconnected in High School at Sacred Heart HS, where we played on the football team together.  Chris's HS football number was # 65. I can still see his bright smile and his infectious laugh, which warms my heart. That is a place where I hope to return to as I begin my journey of grief for the loss I am suffering at the news of Chris's death. It is my hope that I can do well in my grief work and reconnect again with Chris in a place in my heart where I can hold both the grief of this loss and the joy I found in life spent with Chris. God bless all of Chris's family and friends.

Sonja my heart just aches for you and your girls..Your family has had so much to bear in such a short period of time..I'm praying that God gives you strength to help your girls and yourself through this difficult time..So so truly sorry for your loss..

My brother  Chris and I have been friends since 1981.  We were teammates at Sacred Heart high school for four straight years, and have been in each other‘s life up until the present. Over the years, especially when he moved to North Carolina. We always made it a point to chat on the phone every 2 to 3 weeks and those conversations would last 3 to 4 hours at a time. We would talk about football, the Army, Germany, our families, the neighborhoods back in San Francisco, our friends and everything in between. We had a blast five years ago or so when he and I went to Germany and visited all over Bavaria and all the way up to Berlin Staying with my family sightseeing and of course, enjoying German food and beer! I am so glad he was able to fly out with the help of some friends to our 40th high school reunion. We just had around six months ago! Brother, I could go on for days! Gonna miss you…. God bless you, Sonja and the girls and I’ll see you on the other side!

Im so sorry to hear of Chris" passing. He was a dear friend all the way back to Sacred Heart High School. Chris was very smart extremely witty and had the best memory ever. He will be missed. Love ya #65☘️💚
