Dolly Edith Pope

Born October 12, 1927 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn Toledo Korn and Clara Edith Bost Korn. She had worked as office manager of Robinson Hosiery in Catawba and had retired as the Town Clerk for the City of Catawba.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Alley Pope; and one brother, Talmage Rowe Korn.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy Sue Carpenter of Catawba; son, Freddy Allen Pope and wife, Sharon of Newton; sisters, Avis Korn of Catawba, Queda Korn Laney of Maiden; brothers; W. T. Korn, Jr., of Maiden, Troy Dale Korn of Catawba; and granddaughter, Lindsey K. Pope.

The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Catawba United Methodist Church in Catawba with Rev. Rich Tuttle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Michael Korn, Jeff Korn, Jeff Hendron, Mike Abernathy, Phillip Spencer and Donald Robinson will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:15 p.m., at the church.
