Donald Ray Setzer

Born November 9, 1933, he was the son of the late Homer Setzer and Mary Davidson Setzer. He served his country in the Air National Guard and was a member of Mt. Anderson Baptist Church in Maiden.

Donald is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Settlemyre Setzer, of the home; son, Jeff Setzer and wife, Monica, of Catawba; daughters, Diane S. McCullough of Claremont, Amanda Setzer of Claremont; four grandchildren, Cole and Clay Setzer, Michael Crouse, Mandy Josey and husband, Brandon; one great-grandchild, Zach Josey; brothers, Neil Setzer and wife, Carolyn, of Claremont, Randy Setzer of Charlotte; sisters, Frances Shook, Evelyn Setzer, Millie Settlemyre and husband, Joe, all of Newton.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Mt. Anderson Baptist Church on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles Ingle and Pastor Donald Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Neil Setzer, Harvey Settlemyre, Joe Settlemyre, Bill Shelly, Cole Setzer, and Clay Setzer.
