Eddie Eloise Hollar Smith, age 100, of Claremont, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024. Eloise was born in Catawba County, NC on April 30, 1923 to the late Ed Eugene Hollar and Susan Sigmon Hollar.
Eloise was a devoted lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she attended church every Sunday and at one point in time had over 20 years of perfect attendance.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Edgar Vance Smith JR. sisters, Bryte Travis, Ruby Carpenter, Georgia Stevenson and Jean Pharr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mark Smith and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Caleb Smith, and Bryson Smith; sister, Brenda Hollar Pope.
Receiving of friends will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 2 pm prior to the service.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Reverend Eric Hollar officiating. Burial will follow in Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont.
