Frances "June" Ramsey Yount

Frances “June” Ramsey Yount, of Hickory, NC, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the age of 86. June was born in Graham County, NC on March 10, 1940 to the late Pastor Von Ramsey and Fannie L. Ramsey.

In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Ramsey; sisters, Bonnie Lowe, Billie Ruth Ramsey, Ella Mae Lail; son-in-law, Rickey Gragg; and great grandsons, Bryson Freeman and Justin Cook.

June was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church in Denver, NC, established in 1968, where she faithfully served and cherished her church family throughout the years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, treasured grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals, tending her garden, traveling with her husband Paul, and creating lasting memories with those she loved. June retired from Lane Venture, where she worked as a seamstress and upholsterer. June will be remembered for her unwavering faith, kind heart, and the love she shared with everyone blessed to know her.

Left to cherish June’s memory are her loving husband of 33 years, Paul Yount; her son, Dwayne Lane (Jennifer), her daughter, Paulette Lane Gragg; step-sons, Mickey Yount (Joann), David Yount (Amy); brothers, Pastor Dr. Lonny Ramsey (Pearl), Larry Ramsey; sister-in-law, Judy Ramsey, grandchildren, Terri Miranda Freeman (Andy), Samuel Helms (O’Neal), Jessica Webb (Thomas), Ricky Gragg, Rev. Morgan Lane (Sara), and Casey Yount, along with eight great-grand-children and two great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service celebrating the life of June will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, July 10th, at Victory Baptist Church, with Pastor Dr. Von Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 3:00 pm until 3:45 pm. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
