Born on September 15, 1941, James was the son of the late William James Tyndall and Mattie Hall Tyndall. He was a dedicated employee of Southern Furniture in Conover, retiring after 35 years of service.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Minnie Tyndall, and his sisters Alease McDonald, Lucille Bass, Pauline Smith, Nellie Darden, Thelma Hair, and Judy Faircloth.
A man who loved the outdoors, James found joy in spending time with his dog and sharing laughs and stories with his loved ones. In the early 1970s, he enjoyed racing in the Hobby Division alongside his brother, Earl — a passion that created lasting memories. James and Earl remained incredibly close throughout life, sharing a cherished nightly phone call, a testament to their deep bond.
To those who knew him, James was more than just a brother or uncle — he was a true friend. Though his presence will be missed dearly, comfort is found in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved wife.
James is survived by his brother, Earl Tyndall (Ruth) of Conover, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom were blessed by his love and kindness.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Drum Funeral Home in Conover with a small memorial service to follow. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
