In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by brothers, Clyde Lee Herman and wife, Becky, Dale Edward Herman and wife, Elsie; brother-in-law, Neil Bumgarner; and sister-in-law, Dot Herman.
Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Conover.
Those left to cherish Janet’s memory are her husband, John Preston Van Horne, Jr; daughters, Julie (Tracy) Connor, Jana Brown; brother, Paul Herman; sister, Ellen Bumgarner; and three grandchildren, Brittany Connor, Matthew Connor, Janelle Brown.
A private family graveside service for Janet will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with Reverend Peter Frank and Reverend Eric Hauss officiating.
