John was an important and loved part of his family. He worked as a machinist and was proud to have the title of “Master Machinist.” In his spare time, John enjoyed riding his motorcycle with family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his son, Tommy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 10 years, Pam Bumgarner Johnston; stepdaughter, Jennifer Spencer; stepson, Bill Clark and Caroline, Ashley, and Avery; grandchildren, Brandon Lail (Cassie), Marissa Ann, Holden Miller and Grayson (special great grandson).
A Celebration of Life for John will be held at 7pm on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Drum Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dr. Rob Helton of St. Paul's Community Church Officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolina Caring Hospice House, 3975 Robinson Rd. Newton, NC 28658.
