Johnny Ray Moose

Johnny Ray Moose, 76, of Catawba, North Carolina, was born August 28, 1949, and passed away March 8, 2026. Johnny was adventurous, and he will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who knew him. An outdoorsman, Johnny was a rockhound who loved to hunt and fish—finding peace and purpose in the open air and the simple joys of time spent outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene W Moose and Vera Stewart Moose; brothers, Walter Moose, Jerry Moose, Baxter Moose and James Moose; and sisters, Peggy Moose, Dorothy Bennett and Mary Schaneman.

Those left to cherish his memory are sisters, Christine Moose Miller, Linda Moose Dellinger, Debbie L Moose and Dessie Moose Greenwood; his beloved dogs Janie and Bear; and a number of extended family and friends.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, April 17, 2026 from 5 to 7pm at Drum Funeral Home in Conover.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
