Kirk loved life; friends and family called him “Big Fun” or “Cuddles”. He was a big fan of NC State Football and he played football with Newton-Conover High School from 1984 to 1987. Many of his fellow players surrounded him at hospice. Kirk had a very special love for Camp Linn Haven and volunteered there often. Kirk served as president for the Camp Linn Haven Booster Club. His greatest passion, though, was family time- especially the time that he spent with his son, Graham.
A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover, NC. Reverend Scott Johnson will officiate, and assisting him will be Reverend Anton Lagoutine. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made either to Catawba Valley Regional Hospice: 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, North Carolina 28658 or to Camp Linn Haven: PO Box 1096, Conover, NC 28613.
