

Laura “Peggy” Jane Liggett Hall, 87, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton. Peggy was born in Fresno, California on September 19, 1929, to the late Thomas Huey Liggett and Maude Clementine Rosprim Liggett.
Peggy was a dedicated and compassionate nurse and cared for others in this profession she loved for 43 years. Peggy grew up during the lean years of the Depression and developed a deep sense of appreciation for the things they had. She learned to sew at an early age, and made many of her own clothes and those of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Tilford O. Hall, USMC retired, and grandson Christopher Hall, U.S. Army and Afghanistan War veteran.
She is survived by sons, John Steven Hall, Sr. and wife, Tanya of Conover, NC and Thomas Michael Hall and wife Gwynn of Louisville, MS; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at Eastview Cemetery in Newton, NC led by Rev. Mark Ikerd, on Saturday December 31, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. prior to the Service at Drum Funeral Home at Conover, NC
