Lloyd was a faithful husband of 63 years, and he was a loving and steadfast father. Behind a strict look laid a heart full of deep care. He was a faithful charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hickory. Lloyd was a US Army veteran and served in Berlin, Germany and the Korean War era.
Those left to cherish Lloyd’s memory are his wife, Juda Hartsoe Shook; sons, Terry Pate (Lynn), Scott Shook (Tammy), Brett Shook (Angela); brother Dale Shook (Donna); 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Receiving will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 11am to 12pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2160 35th Ave Dr NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
A funeral service for Lloyd will be on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 12pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Seaman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory with military honors.
