Lorena Elizabeth Fox Stiles

Mrs. Lorena Fox Stiles, age 89, of McLean, VA, formerly of Conover, NC, passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2014, at her home. Born November 11, 1924, in Catawba County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Leroy Fox and Hattie Elizabeth Travis Fox.

Lorena was a former member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover, NC, where she was baptized, confirmed and married, and was a founding member of St. Athanasius Lutheran Church in Vienna, VA. She retired as a legal clerk from the federal government where she had worked in both the Pentagon and Library of Congress.

In addition to her parents, Lorena was preceded in death by her husband, Loyle Weafield Stiles; brothers, Ralph Fox, Banks Fox, Leroy Fox, Wade Fox, Frank Fox, Blake Fox, Fred Fox, and Henry Fox; and sisters, Pearl Fox Bennett and Lois Fox Bailey.

Survivors include her sons, Lee R. Stiles of Conover, NC and Scott A. Stiles of McLean, VA; brother, Max Fox of Conover, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 24, 2014, in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Conover, NC. The Rev. James Douthwaite will officiate and the burial will follow in Conover City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Monday.
