

Born August 18, 1917 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late James Lester Shook and Jessie Pauline Sigmon Shook.
Macie was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Coyte Henry Sigmon; second husband, Garland Brown; son, Joe Henry Sigmon; daughter-in-law, Norma Sigmon; and brothers, Hubert Vernon Shook and Ray Kenneth Shook.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ted (Janice) Sigmon of Claremont, Jim Sigmon and fiancée, Kathy Waters of Claremont, and Stanley (Gigi) Sigmon of Claremont; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Sigmon; grandchildren, Jeff (Glenda) Sigmon, Rev. Craig (Susan) Sigmon, Caroline (Teddy) Brown, Marcheta Campbell, Shannon (Christy) Sigmon, Brian Sigmon, Josh Sigmon, and Skilar Sigmon; extended grandchildren, Suzanne Terry, Donald Terry, Trey (Kendra) Hendren, Brooke (Joey) Marcum, and Hailey Hendren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and family friend, Cheryl Brown.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Claremont with Rev. Gary S. Haddock officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016 prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Sigmon, Rev. Craig Sigmon, Brian Sigmon, Josh Sigmon, Ben Sigmon, and Eric Brown.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of Abernethy Laurels for caring for Macie over the past 6 years.
