Marilyn (Lail) Shook

Marilyn Lail Shook, age 80, of Claremont, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born July 31,1941, she was the daughter of the late Willie Ernest Lail and and Bessie Bell Cooke Lail.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by her sons, David Lee Shook and Scotty Ray Shook; brothers, Odell Lail, Hoover Lail, David Lail and Jim Lail; and sisters, Beatrice (Polly) Mull, Shirley Detter and Alene Fredell.

Those left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, Everette Lee (Ham) Shook; son, Corey Shook and wife, Wendy of Claremont; grandsons, Daniel Shook of Claremont, Codie Shook and fiancé Kelci Denney of Claremont, Scotty Shook and girlfriend Tayler Street of Boiling Springs; brother, Eddie Lail of Hickory; sister, Alberta Crawley of Morganton, daughters-in-law, Kim and Keith Fulbright of Casar, and Theresa Teecee Self Shook of Boiling Springs.

Marilyn was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. Marilyn loved hunting and fishing.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Eric Hollar officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
