Michael Darren Baker

Michael Darren Baker, age 46, of Hickory, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Carolina Caring after fighting a long battle with cancer. Michael was born on August 12, 1974, in Catawba County, the son of Judy Baker and the late Berry Baker.

Michael received his CDL from CVCC, and worked for UPS Freight as a driver for 13 years. He loved fishing and going to Monster Truck events.

Michael is survived by his mother, Judy Baker of Hickory; children, Zackary and Cheyanne Baker of Hickory, and Alexis Reid of Cajun, MT; sisters, Julie and Shelly Baker of Hickory; brother, Aaron Waters of Oak Harbor, WA; special friend, Katie McDonald; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hickory with Pastor Richard Tucker officiating and Pastor Alex Fisher assisting.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
