Michael Taylor Fairchild

Michael Taylor “Fair” Fairchild, age 66 , of Claremont, NC, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Born in Catawba County on Sunday, February 18, 1951, he was the son of the late John Taylor Fairchild and Louise Ellen Smith.

Michael’s favorite past-time was playing golf. He was an avid sports enthusiast, and enjoyed any sport as long as a ball was involved. He received a scholarship to play tennis at Gardner-Webb.

Survivors include sisters, Ann Sigmon of Conover, Ellen Dyson and husband, Wade, of Mocksville, NC; nieces, Angela Sigmon, Susan Jones and husband, Brad; nephews, David Sigmon, Ronald Sigmon and wife, Cathy; great-nieces and great-nephews, Emily, Jonathan, Reid, Bennett and Lindsay; dear friend, Bobbi G; and her daughter, Jessica Blythe; granddaughter, Chloe, and grandson, Liam.

The family will receive friends at Drum Funeral Home in Conover on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, from 6:00 p.m .- 8:00 p.m. A private graveside burial will be held at Conover City Cemetery.
