Patsy Baker

Patsy Baker, age 80 of Conover, NC, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville. Born September 6, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Samuel Smith and Eula B. Ford Smith. Patsy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Conover and spent her life helping others as a registered nurse in the medical field.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband of 32 years, Doug Baker; son, Ron Dowell; and sisters, Evelyn Hicks and Mary Alice Bell.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sandra Loftin and husband, Gerald, of Conover; step-daughters, Karen Knight of Rusten, LA and Cindy Quarles of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Jason Loftin and wife, Emily, of Raleigh, NC, Keith Dowell of West Monroe, LA; Nieces, Judy Martin of Lewisville, TX and Pam Wall of West Monroe, LA.

A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 with Rev. Mickey Moree officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. prior to the service.
