

Born July 4, 1919 in Catawba County, she was the co-owner and co-founder of Foothills Trucking Company. Pauline was a member of East Hickory Baptist Church and a former member of the choir. Despite the years of declining health, “Granny D” loved nothing more than working in her yard planting flowers, keeping her mind sharp by working puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding Pauline in death are her husband, George Wayne DeHart, and her son, George Ray DeHart.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Anthony DeHart and wife, Dottie, Andrew DeHart and wife, Bridget, and Amanda D. Welch and husband, Dwayne, all of Conover; her great grandchildren, Amber DeHart Sherrill and husband, Logan, Andy DeHart, Lexie Welch, Anthony DeHart Jr., Addie Jo Welch, Anderson Welch, Grayson Welch, Will DeHart, Katie Grace DeHart, and Abby DeHart; and caregivers, Daphine Carver and Ann Cole.
A service of remembrance, officiated by Reverend Brian Weaver, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at the Drum Funeral Home Chapel in Conover.
The family will receive friends following the service, and a private committal service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory.
