Peggy Martin Laughridge

Peggy Martin Laughridge, age 62, of Conover, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton, NC. Born October 6, 1951 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late McKinley Ray Martin and Margie Faye Matthews Martin.

Peggy worked as the traffic manager for Carpenter Co. in Conover for nearly 40 years. She enjoyed golf and was a member of the American Singles Golf Association. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Martin Cook.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Alisha and Michael Shannon of Conover, NC; grandchildren, Dax Shannon and Kylie Shannon; sisters, Nancy Martin McMillan and husband, Gary, of Taylorsville, NC, and Linda Martin Matthews and husband, Pete, of Catawba, NC; companion, Wayne Darrell Sisk of Hickory, NC; a nephew and several nieces.

A service of remembrance will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Conover, NC. Rev. Jeff Moore will officiate and the family will receive friends following the service.
