Rebecca Frances Lentz Simmons

She was born February 03, 1914 in Catawba County to the late Frank Lentz and Viola Sigmon Lentz.

Mrs. Simmons was married to Marshall E. Simmons, who preceded her in death December 26, 1995, a son, Carroll Lentz Simmons, two half sisters, Martha Ring and Doris Mosely.

She worked as lunchroom manager for 20 years at Concordia school of Conover, NC, and was a Sunday school teacher for several years at Concordia Lutheran Church. She always enjoyed activities and was very active in church in previous years. She loved to watch the Carolina Panthers play football and would not miss their games.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son, Gary Simmons and wife, Shirley of Statesville, NC; grandson, Scott Simmons and wife, Kimberly of Maiden, NC; grandson, Jason Rochester of Pembroke Pines, FL; two great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Simmons and Alaya Simmons of Maiden, NC; as well as several nieces.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover, with Pastor Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at the City of Conover Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Drum Funeral Home on Monday, February 5, 2018 from

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
