Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Borst and granddaughter Brianna Borst.
Born May 17, 1933 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Rose DelMonte. She was a graduate of St. Lawrence University, where she met the love of her life, William Borst, and together they shared the most beautiful of marriage of 62 years. She spent her career serving as a biology teacher, teaching with passion and dedication to her students. The heart of her life, however, was her devout faith and spending time with her family, who will remember her by her kindness and unconditional love.
She is survived by her children Stephen Borst, David Borst and wife Maxine, Tom Borst and wife Selika, Mary Reitzel and husband David, Lisa Caporossi and husband Jeff; grandchildren William Borst, Caroline Caporossi and husband Marco, Michael Borst, Jenna Guerry and husband Paul, Alyciah Gutierrez, Branton Borst, Matthew Reitzel, and Nicholas Reitzel; great grandson Paul Guerry.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on September 9, 2026 at 10:00 am with receiving at 9:30 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and interment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
