Ronald "Ron" Lynn Goforth

Ronald (Ron) Lynn Goforth, age 66, of Claremont, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory from complications due to pneumonia. He was born February 23, 1954, in Knoxville, TN, the son of the late Clay and Alice Goforth McClelland.

Ron was a kind soul and quite the prankster. He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed life in his healthier days. Ron enjoyed riding motorcycles, golfing, fishing, and camping. He was was fond of animals of all kinds. He was also a member of the Hickory Masonic Lodge for 43 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Janet Moose Goforth; daughter, Meta Goforth (Stephanie) of Arizona; sister, Patti McCoy (Paul) of Newton; nieces, Amanda Black and Maggie Mobley; nephews, Shawn McCoy, Zachary McCoy, and Josh Fisher; 2 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews.

Funeral services will be scheduled at a later date.
