William Henderson Covington, age 79, of Conover, NC, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Carolina Caring in Newton. Born on August 11, 1942 in Richmond County, he was the son of the late William Prince Covington and Lillian Hawn Covington.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his wife, Cherry Covington; and daughter, Annette Louise Wynn.
He is survived by son, Troy Covington; sister, Ann Turbeville; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service with military rites will be held at the Drum Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Biggs officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
